The Internet - The Ultimate Resource For Tattoo Designs?

Even though the initial phase of deciding whether to get a tattoo or not can be a big decision, (especially if you're trying to hide it from people like your parents - something I know all about!), the next stage of actually picking your design can be a lot of fun.

Finding great designs used to be difficult but as with everything, the internet has made the process much easier and if you know where to look, it's possible to grab thousands of original designs which you can print from home and then take to the tattoo shop.

However, after looking though 15 or 20 of these websites, I discovered some real duds with terrible designs that had obviously been copied from other sources. Of course, what you need is something beautiful and original - and the two services I've listed below are the most popular for a reason - they provide exactly that. Take a look and you'll see what I mean...

Chopper Tattoo

Ranked #1
Chopper Tattoo was my favorite site but only by a small margin to be honest. Both the websites we've listed had their own individual benefits but overall the Chopper Tattoo selection was a little more superior. They provide you with thousands of award-winning tattoo designs and I wish I knew about this place a few years ago when I got my tattoo done! It would have made my life much easier I can assure you!

You search by style, size, color and then pick a design such as Japanese, tribal, Chinese, Maori - anything you could possibly think of. Their database is continually expanding as well and I would be very surprised if you didn't find what you're looking for.

Its a simple system really; once you become a member you receive immediate access to their extensive designs where you search for something you like, print it off and then take it to your local tattoo parlour to get it done. They'll even help you find a local shop!

Even though the layout of the site was at times a little difficult to navigate, I've ranked it as the superior service simply because of the quality of their designs. And of course, what you're looking for is designs so the one negative was only a minor hinderence.

Tattoo Me Now

Ranked #2
Tattoo Me Now was another great resource and even though it ranks slightly below Chopper Tattoo (as I've said due to the quality of designs) it was still a far better service than most of the other junk we found online.

The design gallery contains over 3,500 images and again the way you use them is identical to the other website. Find, print and then take them to the shop to get done.

One of the things that impressed me with Tattoo Me Now were the videos about tattooing, how to choose a suitable tattoo for you and how to get it done correctly. Very useful information if you're new to the whole process.

One of the differences here is that this site actually contains a community of tattoo enthusiasts and the members section is consistently updated with tattoos that have recently been done by other members. This is a nice feature and one that has drawn thousands of people to this site.

However, even though Chopper Tattoo is a little less popular than this service, as a tattoo fanatic myself, I found the actual designs much better which is why I've recommended it.
